Vacuums
Unlike brooms, vacuums can last up to eight years with the proper care. They also make vacuums for different surfaces, level of suction and how durable it is. Even if the vacuum is a newer model, there are still a few things you can do to prolong it such as replace the filter, clean the bristles and make sure the vacuum bag is cleaned out. But, eventually the vacuum will start to not pick up as much dirt or hair and not perform as well as it should. This is a good sign that purchasing a new vacuum cleaner is near.
Mops
Mops are one of the most replaced cleaning tools out there. Most people just assume to keep using it over and over again, however, mops carry lots of bacteria and if an old mop is used, it is just spreading the bacteria everywhere. Mops should be replaced every six months, or every 20-25 uses to ensure the cleanliness of the tool.
